The ECUSB3S254F 2-Port USB 3.0 Flush Mount ExpressCard Adapter lets you add two USB 3.0 ports to your ExpressCard-enabled laptop.
The USB 3.0 card features a unique form factor that allows it to be inserted into a laptop's standard 54mm ExpressCard slot without protruding for an invisible addition that can remain installed, even when traveling, without fear of damage to the card or ExpressCard slot from impact.
Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.0 port when paired with a (Note: UASP requires a compatible operating system). Using a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP optimizes transfer by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing transfer speeds. The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card supports transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. Additionally, it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 (up to 480Mbps) or USB 1.1/1.0 up to 1.5/1.2Mbps respectively. This makes it the ideal accessory for connecting new and legacy USB devices to a laptop.

UASP is supported by Windows 8, Server 2012, and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or later. Testing shows that UASP support provides up to 70% faster read speeds and up to 40% faster write speeds than traditional USB 3.0 at maximum capacity.
Under the same conditions, UASP shows up to 80% reduction in CPU resource requirements.
Testing was conducted with an Intel Ivy Bridge system, additional StarTech.com USB 3.0 cards, a StarTech.com enclosure with UASP, and a SATA III solid state drive.
