The PEX1000MMSC2 Gigabit Fiber PCI-E Network Card lets you connect a desktop PC directly to a fiber optic network by adding a SC multimode fiber port to your computer or server through a free PCI Express slot.
Ideal for integrating new or existing infrastructure over long distances, this card enables your computer to benefit from full Gigabit bandwidth up to 550 meters from your network source using a 50/125 micron multimode duplex SC fiber cable. Additionally, this versatile card offers greater compatibility by integrating fiber into the computer up to 220 meters when deployed to network frames consisting of 62.5/125 micron multimode cables.
With the fiber optic connection, your network is no longer susceptible to electronic interference, which can cause problems with traditional RJ45 copper networks, making this fiber optic card ideal for setting up secure networks.
