Description
Kingston IronKey™ Vault Privacy 50 series USB drives are premium USB Type-A and USB Type-C©* drives that offer enterprise-grade security with FIPS 197-certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode. They also provide protection against BadUSB attacks with digitally signed firmware and against brute-force password attacks. The VP50 has undergone Pen Testing***** for enterprise-class security. Because it is encrypted storage under the user's physical control, the VP50 series offers superior security compared to internet and cloud services for data backup.
The Vault Privacy 50 supports multiple passwords (admin, user, and one-time recovery) with both complex and passphrase modes. This allows for data recovery if one of the passwords is forgotten. The classic Complex mode allows passwords of 6 to 16 characters using 3 of the 4 character sets. The new Passphrase mode allows the use of a numeric PIN, a phrase, a list of words, or even song lyrics of 10 to 64 characters. The administrator can enable a user password and a one-time recovery password, or reset the user password to restore data access. To facilitate password entry, the "eye" icon can be enabled to reveal the entered password, reducing typos that lead to unsuccessful login attempts. Brute-force attack protection locks the user password or one-time recovery password if 10 incorrect passwords are entered consecutively, and erases secure data from the USB drive if the administrator password is entered incorrectly 10 times consecutively.
To protect against potential malware on untrusted systems, the administrator and user can configure the USB drive in read-only mode to prevent writing. Additionally, the integrated virtual keyboard protects passwords from keyloggers and screen recorders.
The VP50 series USB flash drives can be customized and configured with a product identifier (PID) via Kingston's customization program. This allows them to be integrated with standard endpoint management software to meet enterprise IT and cybersecurity requirements.
Small and medium-sized businesses can use the Administrator role to manage their USB drives locally, for example to set up or reset employee User Password or One-Time Recovery Password, regain access to data on locked USB drives, and comply with laws and regulations when investigations are required.
The Vault Privacy 50 offers high dual-channel performance across all capacities. This USB drive is waterproof with an IPX8 rating, TAA compliant, and assembled in the USA.
Hardware-encrypted USB flash drive for data protection
Protect your important data with FIPS 197 certified 256-bit XTS-AES encryption. Built-in protections against BadUSB and brute-force attacks, and penetration testing ensure enterprise-class security.
Multi-password option for data recovery
Enable Admin, User, and one-time recovery passwords. The administrator can reset the user password and create a one-time recovery password to restore user access to data. Brute-force protection locks the user password or one-time recovery password if 10 incorrect passwords are entered consecutively, and erases secure data from the USB drive if the administrator password is entered incorrectly 10 times consecutively.
New secret phrase mode
Choose between Complex password or Passphrase mode. Passphrases can be a numeric PIN, a phrase with spaces, a list of words, or even song lyrics, and must be between 10 and 64 characters long.
Dual read-only settings (write protection)
Prevent malware attacks with a forced read-only mode set by the administrator for the user, or a session-based read-only mode set by the administrator or user.
Managing USB drives for small and medium-sized businesses
Use the administrator role to locally manage employee one-time user and recovery passwords, regain access to data on locked USB drives, and comply with laws and regulations when forensic analysis is required.
Additional security-related features
Reduce failed login attempts and frustration by enabling the "eye" button to display the entered password. Use the virtual keyboard to protect your password entry from keyloggers and screen recorders.
